Sir Thomas More (February 7th 1478- July 6th 1353)
Thomas More was born in London England and he attended St. Anthony's School in London, which was one of the best schools in his day. When Thomas was young, he served as a page for John Morton, the archbishop of Canterbury and chancellor of England. John Morton thought More to be ''a marvelous man.''
Thomas went on to study at Oxford university where he spent two years mastering Latin and formal logic, writing comedies, and studying Greek and Latin literature.
Renaissance Spirit
During his times Thomas More would have been considered a Renaissance man because he did not limit himself to one particular arena of life. More was a politician, a devote member of the Catholic Church, a writer, a father, and held many positions besides that. Through the many aspects of his life, Thomas More, greatly changed the world during his time, and for future generations. In his writing, his faith, and his work in politics, More became an example for others, an archetype in many fields, a lot of which are still followed today.
